The Walk for Mental Health is coming October 7th at the State Capitol, with a Health Fair coordinated by Turning Point Community Programs. This event is a cooperative of many local mental health agencies in the Sacramento region. Our first major sponsor is the Sutter Center for Psychiatry.

Our goals are to dispel the myths about mental illness, to dissolve the associated social stigma that hinders recovery and prevents people from getting treatment, and to raise funds for local mental health agencies that help people who are ill. For more information on the event, go to http://www.walkformentalhealth.com.

We are inviting professionals in the mental health community to join us in raising public awareness -- you can sponsor, volunteer, or help with publicity, in exchange for an acknowledgment on our promotional materials. If you can share our flyers in your offices, meetings, or newsletters, please contact us. We are looking forward to working with you!
